Many moons ago i clercked at a shop and we had a guy that was beating us by 10 mins on computer plays or steam moves (whatever they were called back then) and we told him no early betting that he could only bet on game day (this was b4 the internet , we had a phone in odds service) so he ended up telling us FU (which is what we wanted)
Agreed. I went on an insane run one Saturday morning many years ago. I hit 9 of 9 and my balance was going thru the roof. This little jackass local leaves me a voice mail as the games were ending in my favor telling me "everything is off. The feds are on me". Basically it was his escape plan to get out of paying. Little fker was a pharmaceutical rep driving a BMW and I had been paying him for weeks just prior. I blew apart. I had an epic meltdown. I got my money by the way.
my cousin introduced me to his bookie in town and we agreed on 100 per game...i bet 4 games that week and won all of em...he paid me on tuesday and we bullshitted for a couple hrs like everything was fine...when i called next time he said he'd decided not to take any more of my action and hung up on me..i called cousin to ask what was wrong and he had no idea... i guess that little 400 scared him to death...
As long as I done this, I only had to cut-off a handful of winners and it wasn't really about their plays - it was their attitudes. Excuse makers, whiners, and/or plain jerks. lol.
If you are a winner and pay everytime you lose, I would figure most locals should just continue to take your plays and spread you out with his partners/network or kick it up top to someone who can handle it and just take a smaller cut. There are so many options.
But no one like dealing with a jerk.

Yeah i had to deal with a couple of drunks that didnt remember making that bet , always a nightmare with this guy. Then he tried to make a claim on a total , says he bet under and i wrote over. .... the boss hooked up a couple of recorders and when he tried to claim again we played the tape ... then he sais we werent allowed to record calls that we were breaking the law. ... REALLY !
The biggest headache i had though was that we had a legit odds service but there was no internet and the players all had the usa today or local paper with yesterdays lines. .... they'd say 28 ? the paper has 26 .... i'd say will call the paper then.
Have dealt with all of these as well. The go bet with the paper is still one of my favorite lines. Another good one is when you play the tape and they say that isn't my voice or you spliced the tape from other bets with the same team weeks prior. Then they get mad and hang up.
