I mean the replay is proof positive. will be a better chance of injury now but the call has to be made correct now, right?

My understanding is that the only "automatic" replays are whether its fair/foul or fan interference , the phantom double play at 2nd base would have to be a managers challenge.

I would think a manager would challenge late in a game but probably not early.

Good point earl...that could be a huge swing late in a game too....

I wonder if pitchers will rush back to the mound to get a pitch off as quickly as possible once a batter steps in after questionable calls (and whether batters will delay stepping in so his manager can review prior plays)....will be interesting to see how it all plays out

yes, i would think the phanthom dbl play will be a thing of the past. why save a challenge, when the guy is off the base?

Not necessarily , every play is not going to be automatically reviewed , it's up to the manager to call a challenge. The proposal from mlb is for managers to have 2 challenges. ... gotta be careful where you use them. ... there will still be some wrong calls.

I gotta think they will find a way to exclude that from review. The whole reason for it is safety, it is completely unnecessary to have to complete the play and will only lead to more injuries.

exclude plays that you think are completely unnecessary to complete?! ....and you are serious?! :think2: ,,,,, I would like to hear a statement from MLB regarding this specific subject. if anyone knows their position please advise.
