That's the problem. The gun rights advocates (which include myself) should have condemmed him and said this is not what law abiding gun owners do.

great post.Unfortunately weve become a nation of extremes, not many people want to be "middle of the road." Just because I believe that assault rifles should be banned does not mean that I believe in a persons right to have a hand gun for protection or a rifle to hunt. I believe that 90% of gun owners are responsible but its the 10% of the idiots we need to guard against. Its not unlike people that drink alcohol, many of the laws are to protect us from the idiots, not the law abiding citizens.
