Question on how to bet into stale college hoops lines

I have a local who is using lines that are only updated once per day on the weekdays (come out at 6:30 EST) and three times per day on the weekends (noon, 3:30 & 6:30). The result is many opportunities to bet into lines that are stale. Assuming each wager at the correct line is a 50/50 proposition, I figure that this gives me anywhere from a 3-6% improvement on my odds depending on how far off the line I get is from the closing line.

Here is my question: My max bet I am allowed is $500/game, so should I bet $500 each game when i have the best of it? Or, should i stagger the bets - for example, bet $300 when I have a 1 point advantage, $400 when I have a 2 point advantage and $500 when i have a 3 or more point advantage?

Obviously, I want to maximize my profits but I also want to play as long as I can before he boots me.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't do it on every game, it won't take him long to catch on to what you are doing when you start beating him badly. Look for games you like already do it that way. I'd take the worse ones you can find and give yourself some good middle opportunities.

Max bet only the lines that are off by the most...It won't guarantee that you'll kill him, but you'll certainly have an edge.
