I eat a pretty clean diet. Avoid fast food for the most part etc..
Im active in the gym etc...

One thing I am addicted to though is carbonated beverages.

Cokes is my #1 drug.

I go to SAMS and buy cases and cases of Mexican Coke.
Mexican Coke has the old Coke recipe with the real sugar in it instead of the high fructose corn syrup found in the American version.
I have a separate fridge just for Cokes in my house and its always full and getting restocked.

When I wake up in the morning my first job is to walk to the fridge and down 2 Mexican Coke's.

I justify my drinking of Coke's based on the fact that I do many other things correctly.

Is this something I should quit?

No nutritional value. Diet sodas are even worse. Full of chemicals.
A can of beer is better for you than can of coke.

Got kind of the same problem with Diet ice tea with lemon...Tried switching to water today,Now I have a glass of diet Ice tea in front of me.Thought diet was the way to go,might not be the case. From what I read the sweetener in diet drinks can cause an insulin surge that could add weight on just like non diet drinks.....Also there are claims of artificial sweeteners causing cancer.I'm hooked on this damn, diet Ice tea.

“The main thing is excess calories,” Dr. Christopher Ochner, assistant professor of pediatrics and adolescent medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, told FoxNews.com. “If everything else in their diet is equal, a person who has a can of Coke a day adds an extra 14.5 pounds per year, just from the calories alone.”

try drinking green tea (hot or iced) to get your caffeine....they also sell stuff now where you can add caffeine to water

Start smoking weed. Then you can't justify drinking cokes as your only bad habit.

Good thread. I have wanted to quit drinking pop forever it seems.
But the headaches I get everytime are so brutal. I think I'm going
To try again and try that iced green tea suggested above.

I have quit drinking soda for over a year now, one of the best decisions I have ever made. Not to mention for the last 6 months I have only had water and a few beers here and there. I feel so much better and I know it's not all from quitting soda but it helped considerably. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes earlier in the year and my doctor told me that soda and juice were my downfall. Just cut it out cold turkey.

They do, its called coffee. If soda is your way of getting caffeine then cutting cold turkey will give you some bad headaches.

Oh yea, how dumb am I?
Yea, coffee taste exactly like water.
How was I not able to figure that out.

Oh yea, coke and dr pepper is also water.

Problem solved.

Thanks Nick.

Beer has protein in it and some good carbs as long as you don't exceed it.
Much like a glass of wine is good for you. Soda has ZERO value. Just empty calories and shit that rots your teeth.

I quit coke and diet cokes a few years. Switched to club soda. Drink coffee and unsweet tea as well to get the caffeine I'm hopelessly addicted to. Good luck!

If Saints lose Monday night, you must give up Soda cold turkey. If they win, drink, soda till you throw up, then that might make you want to quit
