The NFL has fined Steelers coach Mike Tomlin $100,000 for interfering in Ravens receiver Jacoby Jones' kickoff return last Thursday, and according to a league release, "in addition, because the conduct affected a play on the field, a modification or forfeiture of draft choices will be considered after the final order of the 2014 draft has been determined."

Basically, as expected, the NFL has come down hard on Tomlin, though the league also decided a suspension wasn't in order.

A day after the league's vice president of officiating Dean Blandino said Tomlin should have been flagged on the play, this discipline was issued by Ray Anderson, the NFL's executive vice president of football operations.

Should be given a suspension.

Player smokes some dope and its a suspension. Head coach acts like an immature clown while trying to cheat and endangers players safety and its a slap on the wrist.

There is no logic to having no suspension yet a forfeit of a draft pick.

Of course that represents the NFL of today...

Definitely warranted a suspension to wipe that grin off of his face just after he did it!

It appears that the draft pick consideration will come into play if it is impacts Balto's playoff berth though tie-breakers:

Ray Anderson, the NFL vice president of operations, made the ruling. The NFL did not make Anderson available to discuss the case, but a league source said today that Anderson is waiting to see if there are any “unforeseen ramifications from the interference with play.” Those “unforeseen ramifications” could be things such as tiebreaking procedures that go into determining playoff qualification or seeding.

Yes it is, he makes 6 million a year and since fines go to charity he can write it off.
Draft pick is a different story.

Roll, everytime I hear him say, "I take full responsibility" and he says it every press conference, I want bitch slap him.

I didn't think the team could under achieve more than last year and they proved me wrong.

the more i think about it the best way to punish the steelers would be to give them more draft picks....since Tomlin and the new regime (Dan junior, etc) they are the worst drafting team in NFL. They've certainly drafted more convicts (Alameda Ta'aumu, Chris Rainey ring a bell?) than Pro Bowlers the past few years

i like people that can express themselves succinctly. when i hear tomlin talk i want to shoot myself. For him to "take full responsibility" then say he won't call the ravens to apologize because "i know what perspective they have on it" tells me he's also a piece of shit

pretty much when you fuck up in life, intentionally or not, the other person has a different "perspective" on the situation...but the dumb, ignorant fuck can't understand that?

it WAS intentional. he IS a moron. the team IS a disaster and he WILL be fired within the next 13 months

seriously, close your eyes and think of Jackie Chiles saying his actions were "embarrassing, inexcusable, illegal."

he should have just said "it's outrageous, egregious, preposterous ... "
