Repost for the main forum:
It's that time of the year folks, if you are feeling it in your heart to help out some of the less fortunate children of Costa Rica we will be collecting formula and diapers for a local orphanage. Used baby and children's clothing is also acceptable if it is in good condition.
If you arent in a position to drop off the donation yourself Im sure some sort of easy payment method can be arranged and I will personally go and buy the items that you would like to pledge. Current diaper and forumula brands and prices will be posted soon if you prefer to donate the actual items rather than the cash.
I finally got to know the place a little better the other day. There are 8 houses with about 8 kids in each one, they have all been taken out of abusive households and about 60% of the kids are special needs and have urinary incontinence issues for which we will need smaller adult diapers to keep them dry. One of our main goals is to make sure they get their vitamins which usually comes in the form of a shake type supplement similar to Ensure. (this is a year round goal).
Their playground is also in rough shape in quite a few places and pose a risk to the kids in a couple places(exposed screws, rusty nails, broken eyehooks etc) and they are missing nets off their Soccer and Basketball courts that we'd like to replace. Since the baby swings looked like torture devices I went already replaced a couple them with little tykes swings, but we are shooting to fix the rest of the playground by mid January and hopefully be able to provide them with a nice wooden one with cargo nets and a slide.

Also: It should be noted to the public that this cause is seperate from the charity I have been pushing over the last 10 years along with the help of guys like Wapner, Wilhelm, BAS, VD etc. Since Open Arms has done so well it was time to start something else and reach out to even more needy kids. I will still be making my regular contribution to them this year as well as all the years to come. Both causes are very worthy and as Judge mentioned a little goes a long way. Thanks for your time, and thank you to BAS and the rest of the Rx for letting me post this.
