So the Cotton and Orange Bowls are Friday, Jan. 3. These times will overlap I assume?

Competing stations of Fox and ESPN. I think this will have the Cotton starting a 7-7:30p and Orange at 8:30p. Regardless it will be nice to have options of two games on a Friday night.

New Years Day or the day after used to be 4 bowl games.

Cotton, Orange, Rose and Sugar greed changed all that. In some years the Sugar Bowl was played on New Years Eve and then it was only the Cotton, Orange and Rose on New Years Day. Then again there was only 11 bowl games back then. Liberty, Fiesta, Tangerine, Peach, Sun, Gator, Bluebonnet and the four mentioned. Times have changed since then, that was 1973, 40 years later and it's the Slap Your Bitch Bowl followed by the Smoke Joints Bowl.

Last year of the BSCS. Let the real chaos begin next year.

No disrespect taken, but i'm referring to the BCS bowl games are usually the only game on during the prime time slots.

I used to love new yrs day when games overlapped each other but I dont remember a time (since new bcs format came out in 1998) when another game was playing while a bcs game was on
