Marshall, Texas (KETK) — A man is behind bars after he was found swinging a hatchet inside a local Walmart.
It happened early Sunday morning at 5:50 a.m. at a Wal-mart located in the 1700 block of E. End Boulevard North in Marshall.
Marshall Police were told that a man was swinging a hatchet at people and while officers were en route to the scene, communcations said that several people were injured.
On arrival, the suspect fled from the scene into a nearby wooded area.
Police as well as K-9 units from Hallsville Police and Texas DPS Troopers searched the wooded area.
At 7:30 a.m., police found Christopher Hamilton, 27, of Crawford, Arkansas, and arrested him on scene.
Hamilton was charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
