If the economy collapsed or their was some kind of natural disaster, how many here have the skills or would be able to do what it takes to survive?

I could survive as long as it takes for my doors to keep intruders out. Once it comes down to gun fights and looting, i'm toast.

after watching naked and afraid I realize if I were in the wilderness I'd be totally f'd

I could live off nuts/berries/fruits/vegetables/fish if I had too. Just need a source of fresh water and warm shelter.

Unfortunatley, I only have one punch left in my right hand. Broke my fingers and knuckles many years ago back in college - - - and the way everything healed, I know they will shatter if I punch anyone or anything ever again. It's like carrying around one bullet. I tend to think I'll need more "bullets" to survive wide spread panic and chaos.

it is nice that people are honest, I would a majority of the people on this forum would be in deep shit. Where I am from you come out of the womb with a gun in your hand (for hunting) and a strong understanding of crops. Like the song says...'a country boy can survive'. Having said that, one would be surprised how well you they could do once they are up against it.

Others, are fucked!

I'd be like those crazy people at Wal Mart on black friday. But if I had to create my own fire or build my own bow and arrow to protect myself... I'd be dead.

Oh hell yeah I can survive! Where there's a will there's way. Here in WV, you can literally live off the land. Not that I'm a big survivalist by any means, but I'm confident I can get by for quite awhile.

I have thought about this a few times, and I have enough friends locally who know how to live off the land via hunting and other numerous ways, as well as the use of guns, that I would attempt to try & hook up with in order to help survive...

Some of you aren't giving yourselves enough credit. The will to live is pretty strong.

10 years ago no way. Took almost all the basics for granted......food, water, etc....

Now? I am much better off. I am a college grad with degrees and yet I think I learned the most in my life in my 30's!

Once you guys take a look outside the box and see things for what they really are its not a pretty site. Its going to be an interesting next 25 years in the grand ole USA................

I'd survive. Know how to work a gun, can go forever with eating and still be productive, and got that polysci degree so understanding the strength in numbers concept is a familiar one.

Get as much plant seed, tools, and guns/ammo as you can get your hands on and go find a spot as remote as possible.
