I am not a Mack Brown fan but the way UT is treating him is an absolute disgrace. UT was not relevant when he arrived in Austin, and he has made them relevant over 16 years. He should be allowed to go out with dignity, not pushed out the way it is happening now. I cant say I am surprised, UT f'ed up college football, they might as well f up the firing/resigning of their coach.

I hope Nick Satan tells them to go f@#$ themselves and they end up with Gene Chizek as their coach. ^^:)

Everybody knows Mack Brown is gone but Mack Brown. So what's new, it's Texas. Should this surprise anyone?

wasn't really a tough program to build but you really shouldn't treat anyone this way. that said, two big 12 titles in 16 years isn't exactly great for a conference with more than their share of avg programs. i would say the nine straight 10+ win seasons deserves more than texas is giving mack right now

cut-throat business when you consider he'll be the 9th coach either fired or forced out of a job with the same school he won a national title with in the past 30 years

Texas has brought the Big 12 down and screwed every school in the conference. Mack Brown is just small potatoes compared to the damage they've already done... Like I said, this is no surprise at all to me.

It's big business. Really big business.

He's been paid more than handsomely for a long time and will now get a hefty buyout and an easy job with Texas paying him half a million for the next 6 years. Seems as if TX has been more than fair in my book.

fSU eventually had to usher Bowden out and that seems to have worked ok.

Not really that hefty of a buy-out.

Mack is a good guy but he had become lazy. Texas, Notre Dame, USC whoever.....you got to recruit. Texas past three year record is 25-13. Horns paying a coach over 5 million for very average results. (What have you done for me lately)

New sheriff in town with AD Steve Patterson. He took the job away from Oliver Luck because he presented an agressive plan. Basketball coach and baseball coach better be on high alert. Both are probably gone after this year.

I read $2.75 M. No idea if that's accurate. At first glance, it does seem smaller than expected but he also is guaranteed a job at TX until 2020 paying him $500k per year. And I guarantee that job has zero responsibilities. So 6 years at $500k adds $3M to that buyout.

Brown is gone but he and his agent are not going to make things easy. Yes he has a $2.75 million buyout with a no name job at $500,000 per season through 2020.

As some of my Buds say, "It's business, nothing but business." Brown ain't going away easy until he gets a better deal. That's it men.

It's all about the money and he will get a better deal to step down...count on it.

Saban to Texas in play still...

What a great ploy he's played. The best poker player in football contracts. At first it's leaked he's taking calls from Texas and NOT hanging up. Then it comes out Alabama extends him a contract, in which he has NOT signed, but somehow gets leaked that he kinda in a way has signed it to stay at Alabama, in the mean time he hasn't signed shit. Then it is learned he hasn't signed the extension, Texas scrambles to throw a couple more mill in the pot. Great game by Saban's agent. Saban would be a perfect fit in Texas and I mean PERFECT to a T.
