Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker, who has suffered two concussions over the last four weeks, has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the San Diego Chargers, sources confirmed to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Broncos coach John Fox acknowledged Monday that Welker's health was "what we're thinking about," saying that the five-time Pro Bowler would undergo the NFL's standard concussion protocol.

Welker sustained a concussion in last Sunday's victory over the Tennessee Titans.

According to the league's protocol, any player who suffers a concussion is not permitted to participate in a full practice until the following Friday.

Welker, the Broncos' second-leading receiver this season, also suffered a concussion against the Kansas City Chiefs on Nov. 17. The 10-year veteran returned the following week to play against the New England Patriots.

I dont think it will matter all that much.

He is not half as important for Denver as he was for NE.

Tamme will fill in for him just fine
