WINNING POINTS

PRO BASKETBALL
*Orlando over Cleveland by 5
Potential flat spot here for the Magic, who just returned from a six-game, 11-day road
swing that finished Wednesday night. Cleveland's 2-9 road spread mark, though,
makes them unplayable away from home.
ORLANDO 101-96.

*Toronto over Philadelphia by 3
Philadelphia is 16-6 ATS during its last 22 Friday games, but have allowed at least 105
points in 13 of its last 15 entering this week's action.
TORONTO 110-107.

*Indiana over Charlotte by 16
The Pacers have won the last three matchups by a combined 76 points, including
whipping the Bobcats, 99-74, at Charlotte on Nov. 27.
INDIANA 96-80.

New York over *Boston by 2
Everybody knew the retooled Celtics were going to be bad, but for the Knicks to be
even worse is shocking. The teams just met this past Sunday. The Knicks have been
more effective on the road going 5-4 ATS during their first nine away matchups compared to 1-8 ATS through their first nine games at Madison Square Garden.
NEW YORK 100-98.

*Detroit over Brooklyn by 6
It's difficult to get behind the Nets, who were missing Deron Williams (check status)
and Paul Pierce, and playing without rest. Brooklyn was 3-8 ATS through this past
Monday.
DETROIT 101-95.

*Atlanta over Washington by 8
Jeff Teague needs to prove himself against top point guards such as Washington's John
Wall. The rested Wizards last played on Monday. Washington, however, has lost 10 in
a row to the Hawks in Atlanta.
ATLANTA 104-96.

*Oklahoma City over Los Angeles Lakers by 10
Maybe Kobe Bryant is back by now, but the Lakers have a banged-up situation at
point guard with Steve Blake dealing with a hyper-extended right elbow, Jordan
Farmar out with a torn hamstring and Steve Nash's status up in the air. If Nick Young
has to bring the ball up then the Lakers are in huge trouble. Oklahoma City had covered four of its last five as home chalk through the first week of December.
Memphis over *New Orleans by 2 In a scheduling quirk, this is Memphis' only road matchup during a nine-game span and first away contest since Nov. 27. Both teams have been missing their stars, Marc Gasol and Anthony Davis. The Grizzlies have strong motivation after getting hammered at home by the Pelicans, 99-84, early last month.
MEMPHIS 97-95.

*San Antonio over Minnesota by 8
These teams were supposed to play on Dec. 4 in Mexico City, but the game was called
off due to smokey conditions. This actually was a break for the tired Timberwolves,
who had to play a franchise-most 18 games before the start of this month. Minnesota
had dropped 16 in a row at San Antonio until winning there in the season finale when
the Spurs were thinking ahead to the playoffs.
SAN ANTONIO 108-100.

Chicago over *Milwaukee by 3
This is a rematch from Tuesday when the teams met at United Center. Chicago had
failed to cover in seven of its first 10 road matchups.
CHICAGO 93-90.

***BEST BET
Utah over *Denver by 1
Denver actually has been idle for too long having last played on Monday. So a rusty
performance wouldn't be shocking. Utah is used to playing in high altitude and has
been getting better play from big men Enes Kanter and Derrick Favors. Utah was 4-
2 ATS in its last six away matchups through this past Tuesday.
UTAH 97-96.

***BEST BET
*Phoenix over Sacramento by 15
Idle since Tuesday, the Suns have double revenge after losing a home-and-away series to the Kings on Nov. 19-20. The Suns were missing leading scorer Eric Bledsoe during those games. The Kings continue to search for the right forward combination.
PHOENIX 106-91.

Houston over *Golden State by 3
The Warriors couldn't stop James Harden and Dwight Howard in losing 105-83 last
Friday at Houston. Harden burned the Warriors for 34 points while Howard scored
22 and pulled down 18 rebounds. The Rockets have covered 15 of their last 21 against
the Warriors. Golden State has improved defensively, but the Rockets had scored 109
or more points in 10 of their last 14 going into the second week of this month.
HOUSTON 111-108.
