I lost around $2,800 at Betislands when they closed up shop with players' funds.

What have you learned in the year since?

What percentage of this do you blame SBR for?

Next book to go down.....it doesn't have the amount of players BI did, will be HRWAGER.

List of books that have stiffed me:

WSEX
18thholesportsbook.com
Betislands

Out around 10k total.

I'll elaborate on the rest later....but IMO it was BI and SBR's plan from the start to run off with the funds.

Why would you pick HRWager? They seem to be paying quickly and doing quite well according to poster reports. If someone was getting the run around I dont see how it wouldnt have already been posted.

10% of offshore players post on these forums....and HRWAGER, more than any other book, know who the majority of them are.

It's hard to predict since different books close their doors for different reasons. BetIslands went under because it was a ponzi scheme. Other books have collapsed due to poor money management, change in regulation, or other reasons.

HRWager could be the next to go down because they give away generous boni (and reload boni) and their #s are soft. However, they are quick to cut limits thereby making it more difficult for players to run up big balances (some people at BetIslands had six figure balances - I'd be surprised if any post-up players at HRWager have balances greater than 15k)

True. Greed and greed alone is what started the downfall of WSEX....for many years there all they had to do was sell a few yachts and a couple homes and pay their players. They choose not to...and ended up losing everything on top of that.

Betislands didn't have contact info either. Took them for close to 10k before they ran off. Anyone who didn't play there at the time was an idiot, they made it impossible to lose. You could deposit a nickel, lose the nickel then request the 100% bonus, along with several payouts not deducted, free 1/2 points, double payouts sent...etc etc etc.

True it may be dumb to have given 18thhole a shot but $100 to me isn't very much money to me like it apparently is to you, and is worth the risk. You probably shouldn't be hanging off this industry begging for donations if a few hundred is a lot of money to you, just IMO of course. Seems your time could be best spent elsewhere.
