Game is meaningless in the standings. I remember this happened with Dallas a few years ago where week 16 was meaningless and week 17 was everything (maybe it was last year even?) but I can recall it happening a few times.

Kelly seems like a pretty forward thinking coach and would strongly consider sitting starters given next week the playoffs basically starts for them.

However the betting markets don't seem to be pricing this in at all. I bet the bears at +3 -120 and +137 ML because I do think a strong possibility exists they will sit guys, however, as of right now I guess the free world doesn't seem to think so.

Seems to make sense to rest key players with a big game on deck...Will see how Kelly plays It.

If Det loses, both the Bears and Eagles should be resting guys, as the game is meaningless to both. The Eagles should rest people either way.

a little harder for the bears to rest guys given they just got their QB back but yeah that is possible

I think Chip might be true to his word and use this as a game to get the team better even if it is meaningless...

Oddly, this game also could end up meaning considerably less to both teams.

If Dallas loses at Washington earlier in the day, the Eagles (8-6) will claim the NFC East title by beating the Bears -- six weeks after being under .500 and down to their third-string quarterback. If the Cowboys win, this game becomes less relevant for Philadelphia because with a win or a loss, the East would be up for grabs next week when the Eagles visit Dallas.

Even in that scenario, coach Chip Kelly has no plans to sit his starters.

"We're not in a situation where we've got to rest anybody," he said. "We've got to play and get back on the winning track. We've got to be ready to play winning football."

Don't forget, the Bears have the coach that attempted a game winning 48 yarder on 2nd down and benched a QB that was red hot and protecting the ball for clown QB that hands out picks like a pezz dispenser. Trestman tries to be an "outside the box" thinker, ala Leach.

I wouldn't put much stock into what he says, most coaches in that spot have to say that.

Not sure what he'll do though. It'll be interesting

I agree, but Chip is a winner and in no way, shape, or form is the Eagles a great football team right now. I think Chip will keep the starters in the entire game playing to win and trying to get some more practice for Foles and the guys. He might rest McCoy a bit. But I doubt he is going to take this game off. I've been wrong before though, so we will see. Just my opinion.

Have to agree, especially off of the drubbing that they took last week in the Metrodome.

He is also a forward thinker though

I'm really not sure, I've seen coaches punt the game in the past. Dallas recently...I think Philly maybe recently too? Not sure...

I'm a huge Oregon homer and followed Chip for years. I just don't picture him as a type that would waste this opportunity to get his team better. Maybe if he had Peyton Manning or an established team, but not with Nick Foles in his first year running the offense. I don't think he cares about next week right now, he cares about his players being able to run his offense. I think you'll see Foles in the game for all 4 quarters and Philly playing to win.
