I've never been on any Forum or Message board where there wasn't at least a dozen people trying to cause trouble or trying to piss people off. On the Ole Miss Scout board that I'm a part of it is awful. Several posters correcting people's spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure in a pissed off tone... It is a damn sports message board. Who cares as long as you get the point across... On gambling forums people get bashed for posting plays... Damn it's a 50/50 chance of hitting the bet or not... Example: you come here and say fellas I'm playing Pitt +8 and sometimes multiple posters call you a freaking idiot or you have no clue how to cap blah blah blah..... Hell I used to play B/C class softball in Mississippi and we had a message board for Upcoming tournaments.... You know with entry fee, location, who was in it, and what affiliation we would be playing under (ISA,USSSA, or ASA). It would get so heated in that message board that people would end up in a fight at the parks.... Over Softball people!
My question to all of you: what do people get out of trolling? Why would you want to be considered the dick of the forum? How many quality posters does this cost us? I'm game for disagreeing and debate. I respect a lot of people and if they have a strong feeling the other way I listen... It has saved me a ton of money by discussing it.. Help me understand.
