What does a smart bettor do when they are on the good side of variance? Keep bets the same as they normally would? Increase a little/ a lot?

Same units until your starting roll triples.

Then 150% of those units until that new amount doubles.

Never get cocky. Never parlay. Never lay -101 or higher.

Never. Hot streaks and cold streaks are all statistical anomalies.

Deposit, go on a run....cash out.

Rinse and repeat.

I've done this over 10 years and been fairly successful.

Very very very few people I've ran into in all these years have been successful grinding out a profit over the long haul with any sort of money management.

Stick to one sport....say NBA this time of year, dissect the hell out of it, risk most of your roll every night. Don't do the NFL, CFB, NHL and NBA all at the same time and expect to be destined for greatness. Any other questions just ask.

Back to answer your question....when you're hot bet more, you're hot and your risking profits. Take shots.

Establish a bank-roll, $2,000...once that is established determine a unit amount, say 2.5% of you bank-roll ($50.00 in this case). Once you double your starting bank-roll ($4,000) double your unit ($100) your still wagering 2.5% of your roll. I got this from a guy I respect and it has helped me tremendously. Best of luck.

Kelly criterion would be the best way to optimise your roll.....But if your not familiar with the process, best to stay away.

This approach appeals to me i think. Im typically a pretty small player but good fortune has been on my side and now have about $1400 in my account after cashing out my buyin. My plays are already over what they should be for my size roll as i typically bet $50 a play with the rare $100 or very rare $150.

I have never bet the same units on wagers...I tend to bet on how I feel when it comes to sports....50 bucks to around 2 dimes....If I bet 5 games a day, none of them are for the same amount...

when I've been hot, I bet smaller, knowing the streak is going to end soon
when I've been cold, I bet bigger thinking it has to break...

not the best answer I'm sure, but what I do everytime,
