Funny how Mario Williams was selected by them years back. I'm sure it will cross their mind as they consider Clowney.

The average Texas minded fan would probably love see them get Clowney and position themselves later for Johnny Football.

What is their goal?

From what I've read/seen on the news, their goal is to win a Super Bowl. Call me a racist...fine, but only 1 black QB has ever won a SB. 47 SB's and only once has a black QB won one.

They would be a fool to take him 1st.

There are at least 5 others i would take before Bridgewater

Shelf I don't necessarily agree that I wouldn't build my team around a black QB, but what you say is interesting, because in a way you make a point since the 1 that did win it, Doug Williams, was the first & original black stud QB, and none has won it since then.

But probably just coincidence more than anything...

The black QB talk again.

There are 32 teams in the NFL. How many black QBs actually start on an NFL team and get a real chance? And with that tiny percentage that actually do start and get an opportunity, how many of those teams are actually stacked to even have a team capable of winning a Super Bowl?

Tell you what...I'd take Cam Newton over Sam Bradford, Jay Cutler, Ryan Tanehill or any number of guys. Now, if you want to take all of them over Cam Newton because they're white and he's black, that's sad.

I absolutely would not take Bridgewater and it has nothing to do with his skin color. Id take Manziel over him in a heart beat

i don't think anyone sees bridgewater as a sure fire superstar so package the first pick and go for volume unless clowney's combine numbers are just so far off the charts that you have to take him #1

Yeah, me too but not with #1. Maybe take Clowney then Manziel. That would be good for Texan football.

True fuego....But..... How many white/Hispanic/etc. Wide Receivers get a real chance to start on teams?

Not Many of course.

Why?

Because they are generally considered not as good as a black WR.

So same goes for the QB position, except vice-versa.

However... What do we see more & more of nowadays when white WR's get a shot?
They are performing.

So I suppose it all goes back to your point about who gets a shot, and who doesn't....

Don't agree. There are less of them and less get an opportunity. Doesn't mean they are not as good just as I don't feel white WRs are not as good a s a black WR.

There are less White/Hispanic WR's & RB's who get less opportunities as well.

Does that mean they aren't as good, or they simply aren't getting a fair shot?

I'm using the same argument as you are fuego. Just fun debate...:toast:

It means there are less of them and when you have less of a pool to choose from, you're going to see less make it in the given profession whether it be in the NFL or business world.

Doesn't mean they aren't as good just less of them.

Jake Matthews
CLowney
Anthony Barr
Kouandijo
Mosely
and thats just a short list

If you reread your original post, it appears you're saying there are 5 better QBs than Bridgewater.

If you mean players overall, I agree with you.

I never said or alluded to that...but as far as QB's go....... i would take Bortles or Mc Carron over TB.
