Brady won't watch Super Bowl

Tom Brady has played in enough Super Bowls that watching the big game doesn’t have quite the same appeal as it once did. So, he probably won’t be tuning into FOX for kickoff on Feb. 2.

Brady, who has played in five Super Bowls, came up just short of a sixth trip to the big game on Sunday as the New England Patriots fell for a second straight season in the AFC Championship Game, this time to the Denver Broncos.

The quarterback reflected on the season during an interview with WEEI’s Dennis & Callahan on Monday, including his general disinterest in watching the Super Bowl.

“I don’t have much of a rooting interest, truthfully. Those games are hard to watch,” Brady said. “I don’t see myself sitting down to enjoy a football game or watch it. Our season is over. Truthfully, I could care less about watching a game. That’s pretty much how I feel.”

Brady is the ultimate competitor, and, considering the incredible success he’s enjoyed in 13 NFL seasons as a starter, it’s no surprise that he doesn’t want to watch Russell Wilson and the Seahawks or archrival Peyton Manning and the AFC champion Broncos hoisting the Lombardi Trophy a week from Sunday

He will watch. It is just fresh still. Like a little kid who doesn't get what they want for dinner. The say they won't eat unless it's exactly what they want. Then once they have made their point they eat.

I believe it's true, although he may change his mind by game time, or maybe he'll be on some remote tropical island

I know I won't be throwing a SuperBowl party :)

may be a good day to head to the casinos

Mike, did you ever play in any type of sports tournament when you were younger?

Of course not....Mike, when you were in the band or cheerleading, when the boys lost and got booted from the tournament, did they always hang around and watch the final game?

I would guess no.

lol... I played Baseball from age 7 until 16 ... and Football from age 8 until 17. I also was on my HS Track team ... played a little Hoops in the Park.
So I hear you on that.

But in the Pros .... at Brady's level .... I think it's a little different.

Not saying that Everyone that plays in a Pro Sport watches the All-Star games, etc.. But I have been to Las Vegas plenty of times... or AC, where a Pro Player was throwing a Super Bowl Party

Haha, you know I was just fooling with ya, you've mentioned that you've played sports before.

Maybe some if these guys are just so competitive that they can't take to watch. I can only imagine him thinking just a couple of plays going better for him and he would be there playing

Somebody once asked Walter Payton if he watched Monday Night Football.

He replied, "Does a secretary go home at night and type?"

Yeah I guess.... Just figure he would be somewhere, maybe at a Party and see it.
Not talking about sitting there alone and watching.

I could see Peyton watching somewhere if he wasn't in it.
Guess maybe because he's more like a mechanic when it comes to the game.

What pisses me off is Bradys best receiver would be the 4th receiver on Denver.
