Single women love Democrats because instead of relying on men to care for them they can simply vote for Sugar Daddy Government.

Mike Huckabee is right, and that’s why progressives are angry

Liberal journalists are very, very offended right now. No, they didn’t finally start paying attention to what led to four deaths at Benghazi or discover the monstrosity that is Obamacare. What has the media up in arms is something much worse: a conservative said something that they disagree with. The horror!

The travesty started at the Republican National Convention’s winter meeting. Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee was speaking about the so-called “war on women” that Democrats claim is being waged by Republicans. What, exactly, did Huckabee say that was so offensive? You can read the entire quote here, but this was the money quote:

And if Democrats want to insult the women of America by making them believe that they are helpless without Uncle Sugar coming in and providing for them a prescription each month for birth control because they cannot control their libido or their reproductive system without the help of the government, then so be it.

CNN’s Dana Bash started the brouhaha by tweeting that, At Rnc meeting @MikeHuckabee just said fed govt shouldn’t help women w who can’t control their libido w birth control, which — as anyone with a third grade reading level could comprehend — couldn’t be further from the truth. But no matter. When has anyone in today’s mainstream media ever been concerned with accuracy in reporting? They took it and ran with it, because somehow a statement about how Democrats don’t empower women by making them reliant on the government is actually a slam against women. Liberals everywhere are outrageously outraged — how dare someone suggest that women can do anything without the help of Uncle Sam?

Interestingly, not too long ago, liberals were applauding someone who was fighting for the exact thing that Mike Huckabee is deriding: Sandra Fluke. Remember her? She got a special phone call from President Obama himself and was nominated for Time magazine’s Person of the Year. And why? Because she stood up in front of the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee and begged for the government to pay for college students’ birth control. According to her, female students have to pay $3,000 a year in order to have safe sex, and that’s too much money, so obviously, the government has to come in and take care of that, stat.

The idea of women paying for their own birth control was never suggested, and the unthinkable idea that if they don’t want a baby and can’t afford birth control they should perhaps refrain from sex, was especially not mentioned. And it won’t be, either, because to today’s pseudo-feminists, sex is like food or air. You can’t survive without it, and don’t you dare suggest the idea of abstinence. We’re basically animals, as we’re evidently complete slaves to our physical urges. Everyone has the right to have sex, as much as they want, without having to take any responsibility for themselves or facing any consequences.

Women are told today, by these so-called feminists, that they should be having lots and lots of casual sex. There have been books written about it, columns published declaring that casual sex is empowering and a great way to earn respect. And meanwhile, women are also told that we have the right to have their birth control subsidized by taxpayers. It isn’t good enough that birth control is legal and readily available. It must be subsidized, too.

Some of us are unconvinced that empowerment means having tons of casual sex and begging for handouts from the government.

So how exactly was anything that Mike Huckabee said incorrect? What he described is exactly what liberals and pseudo-feminists are doing. It isn’t empowering to women to tell them that they’re nothing more than the sum of their reproductive organs. It isn’t empowering to tell women that they’re not strong and capable enough to either pay for their own birth control or abstain from sex if they can’t. In fact, it’s harmful. And it doesn’t make women equal to men — it makes them objects to be used and thrown away. Telling women that they can be better than that, that’s true empowerment.

When it comes down to it, Mike Huckabee was right. Why else would the liberals in the media be so offended?

The worst thing conservatives always do is talk. After a very short period of time...eventually they hang themselves by just saying what they think to be true.

If they would stay silent....they would win more elections

Jindal tried to warn them. But stupid eventually comes out, no matter how much you try and hide it.

That's the biggest problem for their national politicians. They have to play stupid to win the stupid vote in the primaries than they have to backtrack and try to be normal in the general election. It makes them all seem so fake. Because the base literally has stupid thoughts and it's impossible to hide them.

I used to Like Huckabee back in 2008. But since then, he's gone full scale loon. His show is an embarrassment. The Audience shots of the Zombies Clapping remind me of the same Shots on Monty Python. http://www.mediaite.com/online/mike...tial-hopeful-believes-obama-grew-up-in-kenya/

I disagree with many of Huckabee's views but I think he truly is a decent man and practices what he preaches. To say that he is a loon and full of hate is a major stretch. I have listened to the referenced speech and believe he used a poor choice of words to make his point but was not meant to demean women.

You may disagree with the message but the man is a far cry from a hate monger. I am agnostic but do not believe all men of the Baptist faith are hate filled monsters......a bit misguided perhaps but not loons. I would never support Huckabee but I do respect him. I am of the opinion that he is being chastised for his faith based views and if this is the case, it is a sad day.

No, he is being chastised for saying something stupid, and tonight, when he had the chance to apologize for it, doubled down on it and used the lame excuse of saying he was misquoted. That's just laughable. Huckabee has moved away from the common sense guy he was in 2008.

"...poor choice of words???" That's exactly what Flip Flop Boy, Mr. 47 per cent, said when asked to comment on Akins or one of those other Righty Whack Jobs comments' not long before the election. As somebody stated then, what nicer sounding phrase WOULD you suggest to call a woman a slut?!?!
