Anyone vacationed in Honduras/Roatan?

I'm thinking about taking a vacation there this summer. I've done Costa Rica & Nicaragua...so was thinking about Honduras (mostly Roatan, but would have to fly into Honduras).

I've been doing some research, but figured I'd ask some of you guys.

What airport would be best to fly into if going to Roatan?

Any advice on where to stay/not to stay?

Travel to and from the island (Roatan)?

I've scuba dived there (Roatan) on a day trip off of a cruise ship. The scuba diving is incredible. Though, the little time that I spent on the island, I came
away thinking that it was extremely poverty-stricken. That was about 8 years ago though, I hear that Roatan has been built up a bunch
since then.
