It would mean they lose their first round game. Hard to imagine.

funny thing is they were a 9 seed last year and took out the #1 seed zags in the second round. then thehe very worst...If they get to round 2, and the 9 beats the 8 and then they beat Wichita, they can claim the #1 seed from the year before was worse

They were in the Final Four last year and are 30-0 right now. No, they are not the worst overall #1 seed ever. And it's not close.

definatly not,...and why would they not go far this year when the field is basically wide open this year,...last year they made final four with better teams at the top

have to agree with that. Wichita St is #2 in the country, a final four team a year ago, success the year before that...

Wouldn't the worst #1 seed of all time, techincally need to be at least the 4th number 1 seed, plus not had very recent success?

actually this thread title is worded wrong,...the overall # 1 seed will be florida,wichita st is just going to be one of the number 1 seeds,....so its all how you read this thread title

I think 350+ D1 teams would love to be considered the worst #1. Like Keyman said, these guys can play. Last year was hardly a fluke.

today was also the first time i saw virginia play and i have to say they are a decent basketball team.when i get to vegas in 17 days i think ill take a flyer ticket on them also.hey anybody that gets hot going into the tournament i believe can win it.
