One thing I hate about the NCAA tournament expanding to over 64 teams

I understand lots of these shit teams from shit conferences are not as good as at large teams from bigger conferences, but I hate the fact that a team from a lower conference gets an automatic bid and has to play in the opening round before the "real" tourney begins. I think the first 4 should be the 8 worst at large seeds. I don't care if instead of #16 seeds they are #9 seeds that are "playing in" for the round of 64. Not fair to me that these teams earn their automatic bid, already have a shitty seed (deservedly) and have to play an extra game.

^^^^^^^^I think it takes away the experience too as this is a once-in-a-life opportunity for teams from crappy conferences.....Can you imagine in 20-40 years the conversation they have with their kids or grandkids or others?

"So, you made it to and played in the NCAA Tournament from a really small school, so who'd you play (Duke, Kansas, North Carolina, Kentucky).......

"Nope, we played Prairie View A&M and lost so we didn't get to play any big name school in the tournament"..

I agree with this as well. You want to seed the worst conferences all 16 seeds so be it, but dont make them "play-in).. keep the 12s and 11s as play ins or even 14 seeds and they should be the literal Last 8 in as the committee sees it and not auto bids

I think the NCAA has the idea that 68 is better than 64 (more money, exposure, more teams, etc).

Honestly, in this day and age of CBB, these "lesser" teams are much better than they used to be. A lot of these teams are senior laden and have years of experience playing w/ each other (vs. a Kentucky type team, w/ all of the 1-n-done's).

I disagree with you. Think about the lesser teams that actually win a game. its that much better for them to fly to Dayton win and then fly somewhere else then just get murdered by a 1 seed

These days , if the answer is, "We'll make more money," it doesn't matter what the question is.

Tradition, conference alignment, fairness, well-being of the student-athlete, all non-factors.

this is the argument.....and I can see where you are coming from. But I don't care if I'm Sam Houston St. If i'm in the dance, I have dreams of getting hot and winning 6 games in a row for an NCAA title....NOT 7 games

I bet Dayton Ohio is magical in March, ask a Texas Southern player.
