Looks like the SEC is better than everyone thought

Tennessee handled their way to the Sweet 16. Kentucky is loaded with talent but young and of course the Gators are outstanding. Makes you think the SEC got screwed with only 3 teams making it. Missouri easily could have made the field. All season everyone knocked the SEC (and in a sense the Gators) for being weak. I say BS.

Tennessee beat a shitty UMASS team and Mercer. Let's not go overboard now.

UK just beat a very untested WS team.

It is overrated. Only ranked team Florida beat was Memphis out of conference, they lost to Wisky and uconn. Tennessee beat Iowa and over seeded Umass team. Give UK credit for beating WSU, who really was two seed. This coming weekend we will separate the men and boys. Coach K, where is the ACC?

Sorry but Florida also beat Kansas and when you look at the UConn victory over Florida, Florida forced an absolutely horrible shot and UConn cleaned up a garbage rebound for a putback to win and by the way, the game was in UConn. Take a look at how the SEC teams that are in the non-NCAA tourney are doing. Oh, and I think we know which conferences are weak. Syracuse? Duke? Ohio State?

UK beat an untested team today? You may be right but they were a 1 seed.

No question the conference was underrated. I'm not saying they were a top 3 conference but the media was telling us how bad of a conference the SEC was from day 1. TN and KY are very talented. Mizzou had a lot of talent. Obviously Fla is great.

I just think this should have been a 4 or 5 bid conference instead of a 2 bid conference (with TN having to be a play in team).

No surprise at the SEC's success; I've got Florida going all the way. Ridiculous that the A-10 had six teams in while the SEC only got three.

The same people as always hating on the SEC. I do think the SEC was down this year compared to the past 10 but postseason results are what matter and as usual the SEC has 3 teams in the sweet 16. Im shocked that Michigan is only 2 pt fav over Tennessee.

A single elimination tournament does not prove which conferences were better than others. And.......Mizzou sucked.

Well of course one game doesn't prove which conference is better than another. But we're not talking about one game. Thus far, the SEC is 7-0. The post didn't say the SEC was better than any conference, just that it was underrated which seems pretty obvious considering the committee only gave the conference two bids and a play in game for TN.

I think you could argue that Kentucky and Tennessee were, perhaps, underseeded/underrated but not sure their wins, somehow, validate the rest of the conference.

Florida had 2 starters injured to begin the season and Chris Walker wasn't eligible until late January....and they still lost (on the road) by the skin of their teeth.

UF has vulnerabilities (they tend to play down to their competition and have been in way too many close games that shouldn't have been close)...but they have enough to win it all.

The SEC was a mediocre conference this year. Outside of the 3 teams that made it in there really wasn't much of an argument for any of the other 11 teams. There are only 68 spots (and really about 50 for the power conferences....do you ever see a power conference w/ a 14+ seed?). So I think the SEC got in their best and obviously w/ all 3 making the Sweet 16, have done well.
