Looks like Notre Dame has a pretty good QB competition going between senior Everett Golson and sophomore Malik Zaier. Zaier says he will be the starter come fall. Golson, the 2012 starter (missed 2013 academics) thinks he should be the No. 1 guy. Head coach Brian Kelly believes the Irish will have a good line and skill players on offense this fall and the key for the upcoming season is developing a quarterback who can run the offense. Both Golson and Zaier give ND the running threat that was lacking last year with starter Tommy Rees. Kelly hinted he would also consider using a platoon system if he thought that would give the team the best chance of winning.
Golson did miss last season but he has "been there...done that" helping the Irish get to the national championship game against Alabama during 2012. I would lean toward him starting but I guess Kelly will decide that.
