Started off the season 0-1 after the M's got to the Angels late in the game. It happens, especially this time of year. The train keeps rolling… two plays I like tonight:
2-Unit Play
Milwaukee (Lohse) over Atlanta (Wood)
Risk $230 to win 200
Alex Wood is going to be good. He's going to be really good. The problem I see here is that every one seems to already think he is an upper echelon pitcher after his impressive debut last season and great spring. The young lefty is being thrust into the spotlight early here with the rash of injuries to Atlanta's deep staff. I have a feeling the moment will be a bit too big for him on the road against an extremely underrated Brewers club. Kyle Lohse is no world beater, but he's a veteran, a competitor, and much better than he pitched last year. The Brewers offense can hit and are going to surprise some people this year. Throw in the home opener aspect and this is a no-brainer in terms of value.

Under 7.5 Runs - Colorado (Anderson) vs. Miami (Eovaldi)
Risk $110 to win 100
When I see a line hovering below 8 for two "non-ace" caliber pitchers I always give it a second look. Brett Anderson's stock is low coming off last year's lost season, but he's a talented lefty going up against what amounts to a AAA line-up in the Marlins. On the other side of the bump you have Nate Eovaldi an underrated pitcher who is quietly evolving (pun intended) into a solid front of the rotation starter in Miami slotted behind Jose Fernandez. Add that to the fact that both bullpens are better than you think and I say this one stays low for us.
