Studies show that 2-5% of Americans suffer from gambling addictions. These outcomes can be horrifying and devastating to people and their families. At any rate the result won't be a positive one.

Clearly the appeal of these show prey on people’s emotions. It shows outcomes to be expected to be positive or profitable.

Steve Stevens is a piece of shit. Clearly he has NO knowledge of sports or sports wagering. He does understand some things about people's weaknesses and how to take advantage of them.

The public has some expectation for CNBC to be a serious network. One that is not looking for Bigfoot around every corner.

Stevens can't be ashamed because he is oblivious to that. Shame carries with it the feeling that the guy would have to understand what a shit and thief he is.

CNBC should be absolutely ashamed and fined or disciplined in some way for promoting this filth. This show glorifies an illness that affects millions of people.

When does the show begin extolling the virtue, beauty, and loving outcomes from hardcore drug addiction?

Please be mindful….. If you every see Stevie Stevens in person….. whatever you do…… don’t give him a cent. Rather give him a shift kick in the twig and berries for the harm he does.

I don't know much about horse racing. I am smart enough to understand that the idea that these shills can all afford to jet around the country weekly to gamble on horses is ignorant. Maybe they are all trust fund crack babies. I don't know. The one yuppie in the headband appears to be.

Horseplayers just somehow feels more honest to me. Even as stupid as it is...... it admits that the players are losing their asses. (Unless if they win the "pipe-dream" contest) At least it does not glorify some black hole deal where they pretend money will always be made.

Had to have been licking someone's sack. Any number of thieves who at least know the lingo would have made a lot more interesting show. At any rate.... the concept that the game can be beat that easily is so damaging to people and their families. Shameful.

No doubt degenerates have some sort of rush just seeing an ass in the casino sportsbook environment.

I don't think anyone at this forum is dumb enough to give steve stevens money. It's just good entertainment.

A couple of those guys on horseplayers are legit. Blows my mind.

My points are simply these:

As fake as all touts are (pitifully fake) Stevens can't even "talk the talk".

Having the show on CNBC is like finding a full page ad on the front page of the Wall Street Journal.... "A twenty foot tall alien finds bigfoot in a hot tub with the Duck Dynasty crew".

I would think a formerly respected network would care about exposing such thieves and hucksters. Not giving them credibility.

Think maybe you are taking it a little too seriously?

i like that horseplayers show, its def legit in regards to their love of the game. i loved the little segment when they were down in lexington for the keenland contest and they stopped by to visit zenyatta. a couple of the guys looked like they were on the verge of getting emotional, which is probably something that would have happened to me if given the same chance to see her

far as their picks, yeah they are most def better than the regular track guy and even most regulars as evidenced by some of their results but i dont take a ton of stock in the show showing them hitting bomb after bomb. remember the show has a decent amount of guys they are following and they are all making selections so yeah they are gonna hit some races and of course the show is gonna focus on those winners.

overall i really enjoy the show, id love to see it get picked up for another season next year.

the steve stephens show is a total fu-king joke. someone needs to take a baseball bat to that guys legs.....

I would never side with Stevens , but i have heard many professional gamblers and high rollers say they dont watch games or watch with the volume muted so they dont get polluted by the announcers. ....i've got to give him a pass on that one.
