Yesterday: 1-1, -$130
This Week: 1-2, -$254
YTD: 1-2, -$254

1-Unit Plays: 1-1
2-Unit Plays: 0-1
3-Unit Plays: 0-0

Went 1-1 on our plays yesterday. I have 1 play this afternoon. Still taking a look at the card for tonight.

1-Unit Play

Over 7.5 Runs - Royals vs. Tigers
Risk $105 to win 100

We have Max Scherzer on the hill against the newly acquired Jason Vargas for KC. While I actually like Vargas quite a bit, I don't like him against this Tigers line-up that is full of right handed pop. For Scherzer, he turned down a big chunk of change this off-season and has taken some public criticism for it (He did the right thing, fwiw). I expect him to press just a bit his first few starts this season which I can see leading to a diminished command of the strike zone, a few more walks, and higher pitch counts early into games. The Tigers bullpen? Woof. We go over here.

Not what we were looking for this afternoon… :ohno: -- On to tonight!

1-Unit Play
Astros (Cosart) over Yankees (Kuroda)
Risk $100 to win $150

The Yankees can't possibly start the season 0-2 against the lowly Astros! Why not? The Yankees had a tough time figuring out Scott Feldman last night and CC Sabathia did them no favors. An 0-1 team in baseball is already forced into a "must win" situation mentally in order to avoid starting the season with a series loss to the worst team in the league. On the flip side, its game 2 and the Astros are already playing games like this as if they were the World Series. That team is young and hungry and they will be playing all out to try and embarrass the veteran Yankees. I say they just might do it.

1-Unit Play
Indians (McCallister) over Athletics

Risk $100 to win $116

Going to play one of my favorite angles here… Doubleheaders with evenly matched teams. An unexpected double header presents itself on Day 2 of the season pitting two teams that both have playoff aspirations in 2014. Sometimes you need to throw the pitching match-up out the window (though I like Cleveland's side better) and accept that fact that it is HARD to win two games in the same day against a good team. Cleveland brings the extra motivation to the nightcap and takes the win with it.
