need a carpenters advice

i've got an old porch ceiling made of plywood that is half rotten... the joist/rafters that the plywood is on are 2x4s and look to be in decent shape so i'm thinkin about just tearin the old stuff off and puttin new on...what are my options?

Ironically I just finishing sanding and staining Beadboard (30 bucks 4x8 sheet) if you go to my facebook page you can see what it looks like,,,
darin tate hill is my full name

the photo on my fb page is of me an d my fiance on the ski slopes

Wainscoting is what is commonly used in my
images
area for porch ceilings.

Ok bro.. I just loaded the photos beginning to end..
I used a belt sander 80 grit.. then 120 grit.. then stained with English cheastnut.. then sanded with steel wool 000.. then restained.. then 2 coats of semi gloss poly.. then sanded with 0000 steel wool..

fellers,i misinformed ye. it's the roof that needs to be replaced and not the ceiling..lol....i really dont much care what it looks like jusy dont want it to leak.

well,after i posted that last message i went out on the porch and realized that the ceiling and roof are the same thing..lol...just some kind of plywood painted white...plywood is on top of 2x4s for roof and bottom of same is exposed..
