Yeah, Tiger is one of the best ever (14 Majors is just ridiculously insane as a great career would be winning just 2 majors and many would love just to have at least one)...That said, there is no Tiger Woods this year, but this is still the biggest and most important Golf Tournament in the world and played here in Georgia as it was co-founded by the great Bobby Jones who was extremely talented in a lot of areas besides golf.......

Top 3 Choices are Rory, Phil, and Adam Scott although only Nick Faldo, Tiger Woods, and Jack have won it Back-to-Back Years from what I'm seeing....

Some good odds on the rest of the field though and usually I like to play between 5 and 9 players and hope at least 80% of them make the initial cut..You can't win a Golf Tournament on Thursday and Friday, but you can definitely lose it.

70-80 percent of the viewership are people who are either 1. rooting for tiger or 2. rooting against tiger. that is why purse sizes have grown and why the tour has become more mainstream. with tiger gone, you only have the 20-30 percent diehard viewers. ratings will be abysmal, i, along with most other casual viewers will not watch because tiger is out and could care less about who wins. nobody is going to turn on the tv to watch rory, phil or adam scott.

Disagree. Tiger put the sport on the next level. Now there are several superstars that the casual viewers know.

golf needs a risk taker,,,, if you sprinkled in a few TIGER/john daley characters,,, You would have something,,, people want to see incredible,,, they want to see things that we cannot do,, (MOST CAN DRIVE A BALL 300 so thats not as impressive anymore) People want to see risks,,,

It doesnt matter if they fail or not, (if they are accomplished thats what heroes are made of) there are a few risk takers out there,,, the more vanilla you play it,,, well,,, lol,,, the more it returns to EXACTLY what golf always was before tiger,,, a snoozzzzefest. that everyone used on sat and sun afternoon to catch a nap,,,

cheers

Should be interesting match as you have some players still looking for their first Major like Dustin Johnson and Henrik Stenson....Stenson became the first player to ever win the PGATour's FedExCup and the European Tour's Race to Dubai in the same season which was last year (2013).......Although at Stenson's older age he is in that best player to not have won a major yet so he could be there and at this point I'd put him ahead of Lee Westwood and Steve Stricker who had that label in recent years, but haven't got it done in a major for whatever reason yet....There are some really good players that haven't had a win in a major yet which shows you how tough it is and how easy Tiger made it look.....It should be noted during Stenson's great year of 2013 he was 2nd and 3rd in the last two majors of the year.

Even Bill Gates got rejected many times and years to become a rare member of Augusta National before they eventually let him in.......

Since we can't post plays here in Offshore Forum I guess I'll post in the Other Sports Forum that very few go into anyway........Good news is I'm playing with house money due to recent weeks....I'm going with 7 different players., but look at the bright side...You have 7 contenders to eliminate if you wanna go that route which could increase your odds of winning or follow some and eliminate others I have and who knows.....I know I had Jimmy Walker in one of the last tournaments I played at huge odds, but I DID NOT use him here as one of the 7........None of the 7 I have are The Top 3 favorites as I think all 3 are beatable in my opinion and Adam Scott is trying to repeat which only Faldo, Tiger, and Jack have done and while possible I don't think he is on that level........So I'll post the 7 in Other Sports Forum.........Best of luck to all if you decide to play it and enjoy the tradition unlike any other. Obviously, I have my World Cup parlay put in alraedy as well in the Soccer Forum.

This has been kind of a funny PGA season so far. This is one year I can see an unknown or relative coming out of nowhere and winning it.

When I was looking at the recent events I noticed the last 3 years in the Masters the eventual winner won their FIRST Major ever at this event which was out of the norm compared to history as that is a bigger gap than normal........That said, I went with 4 players who have won a major before and 3 who haven't for a total of 7 players.

Not that it means a whole lot, but I briefly caught the Golf Channel saying that 5 of the last winners hadn't won a tournament for that season before winning the Masters. I remember when it used to be just the opposite. We almost always used to have an early season winner before they won the Masters. But it's getting tougher to figure out the true form of today's golfers. Especially when the field is so international. Adam Scott could have opened up the floodgates for the Aussies last year. I'm kind of surprised we haven't had a winner before from that country since the same guy that designed Augusta also designed Royal Melbourne. Those two courses are similar in their wide fairways and sloping greens. The Aussies are also in fine form this year with Senden, Bowditch and Jason Day already winning tournaments. Plus didn't Marc Leishman give Adam Scott a pretty big run for the money last year? I think it was him. Anyway, that's a pretty strong group that could make some noise. If he comes in sharp for this tourney Scott also looks strong again. It helps to have a good experienced caddy on your bag. Especially for Augusta. And Steve Williams is the best and most experienced at winning there.

Those 7 are now posted in the International and Other Sports Forum.....The lowest odds of the 7 is 25-1 and 6 of the 7 are between 25-1 and 80-1...
