Egad. What a terrible start. I just have no feel(or no luck) for the beginning of the season. Masterson in his first home game of the season, as their ace, looks horrible- go figure. In the Mets- Reds game, Simon and Niese BOTH pitch beautifully after 3 weeks off. I'll post a few more days, and then I'm out of town for 3-4 days. After that, maybe things will turn around.

SF -1 (-105). 2 units. Giants home opener. Cahill vs. Hudson again. The Giants just seem to be winning the important games, just seem to be hitting in the clutch, relieving well, and playing hot early. Never a big fan of Cahill. Always out of shape, questionable command, and a high 80s fastball that begs for a perfect change up that is usually not there. Hudson is ancient, but is pitching in his final months like the old days- maybe knowing that he might be part of something special. Beating the Dodgers is great, but a home opener with Hudson on the mound has got to pump up the Giants a bit.

Seattle ML (-124). 2 units. Also a home opener with a team that is starting to believe. Paxton looked absolutely masterful in his last 4 outings going back to last September. He can throw a 95-97 fastball, another with sink, a splitter, and a change-up. All of a sudden he has command. The Mariners also can suddenly hit LHPs, which has been a challenge for thew past 2-3 years. For some reason, Seattle also loves Angels pitching, especially their BP. Cano has reinvigorated the lineup and they have power throughout. Seattle also has a fairly deep, strong BP and no longer has to worry about Hector Noesi blowing a lead.
