Is Jim Schwartz coming back to Detroit on Turkey Day?
(Insert joke.)

Assuming the TV network rotation isn't changed, one of the two AFC opponents scheduled to play in Detroit this season -- either the Buffalo Bills or Miami Dolphins -- will be on the menu for the annual Thanksgiving Day game that will be televised by CBS from Ford Field.

And it appears -- if you believe a hint/leak posted on the Bills' website -- the game will feature the return of Schwartz, who was fired as the Lions' coach following a 7-9 record last season.

Schwartz, who had one playoff appearance and four losing seasons in Detroit, is Buffalo's new defensive coordinator.
The Bills' website posted a story titled "13 things to know about 2014 opponents."

The story includes this item on facing the Lions:

"The Bills have played in eight previous Thanksgiving Day games (4-4) in team history with their last appearance on Turkey Day coming in 1994."

While each team's home-and-road opponents already are known for the upcoming season, the dates haven't been officially announced yet. The NFL is expected to release the entire schedule in the next couple of weeks.

It certainly makes sense to put the Lions and Bills on Thanksgiving, if only for the obvious storyline: Schwartz returning to where he was last seen yelling at the fans for booing in the final home game, an overtime loss to the New York Giants that ultimately knocked the Lions out of playoff contention and led to his firing.
