Victor Hampton (left) and Kelcy Quarles are being sought by New York police.

New York police are looking for former South Carolina players Victor Hampton and Kelcy Quarles for questioning in connection with a beating that took place at a Manhattan nightclub, according to the New York Daily News.

A man named Michael Haver was in the VIP room at Greenhouse on Friday night around 3 a.m. when a fight broke out, according to the paper. He was then hit in the head with a man holding a hookah waterpipe before two other men began repeatedly punching and beating him, the paper says, citing sources. Haver's injuries were so bad that he was taken to Metropolitan Hospital Center and had surgery to fix his facial injuries, sources told the paper.

The Daily News cites police as saying Hampton and Quarles -- both prospects hoping to get picked in May's NFL Draft -- were at Greenhouse on Friday night. At this point, it's unclear who beat Haver, and the two players are just being sought as witnesses.
Quarles, however, told GoGamecocks.com that while he was in New York, he wasn't at Greenhouse on Friday night and didn't take part in a fight.

"I'm (mad) about it because it's going to hurt my draft status," Quarles said. "I'm about to do everything I possibly can to get my name cleared because it's not fair. I had nothing to do with this."

Another former South Carolina player, Chaz Sutton, was stabbed in the shoulder while leaving Greenhouse, 50 minutes after Haver was attacked, police told the Daily News. Authorities told the paper Sutton's injury wasn't serious and that they do not believe the attack on him was connected to the Haver beating.

The paper cites police saying that Sutton got into an argument with an unnamed man at the club, but walked away before it escalated into a fight. However, police say that the suspect attacked Sutton from behind and ran off while the latter was walking back to his hotel.

So quick to judge aren't you.

One was sucker stabbed in the back while walking to his hotel. Hope that never happens to you after you leave the Casino.

and I have paid my dues living in NY for most of my life.
Guess this stuff doesn't happen down South.
Plus wasn't even talking about the guy that got stabbed.
