NEW YORK — Atlanta pitcher Aaron Harang was taken out of Friday night's game against the New York Mets following the seventh inning despite not allowing a hit.
Harang had thrown 121 pitches through the seven innings. Six walks and five strikeouts attributed to Harang's high pitch count.
The Braves led 1-0 through seven innings, but scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning to take a 5-0 lead over the Mets.
Luis Avilan replaced Harang on the mound for Atlanta in the bottom of the eighth inning.
