Wrestler/promoter Jeff Jarrett along with the financial backing of country singer Toby Keith and the production value of David Broomes 25/7 promotions (biggest loser) are starting a new pro wrestling company called Global Force Wrestling.

Its silly to think they could compete with Vince McMahons WWE but they certainly could turn the lights out for TNA wrestling on spike tv.

I use to pop in to watch it here and there... was a Big fan back in the day. But I really don't bother with it anymore.

Seems like they could have come up with a better name...

I agree but they've worked out a deal with AAA mexico and new japan and some deals with south korea and the uk , so its supposed to be "international" . ...and believe it or not there are so many 3 letter initials that are copyrighted that most things with wa or wf suffixes are already taken.

tapings are supposed to alternate between Los Angeles and Nashville.

Toby Keith is dropping 6 million and jarrett has loans for 12 million based on keiths 6 million so it should be better than TNA.

I think the only way any company can compete with WWE would be the same way WCW competed back in the late 90's.

You need a billionaire company to start a wrestling company and lure WWE starts to join them. At this point it would be to difficult for a startup company to compete.

Of course its not going to compete with wwe , but it sure as hell can put that bimbo dixie carter out of buisiness.

Anything is better than having just one wrestling company. Wrestling has really stagnated since having only WWE. Right now you only have Vince's idea of what wrestling should be. Think of all the great angles that happened in the late 90's due to all the competition. Even WWE started to get edgier due to ECW's influence.

Exactly , Vince is at his best when he has competition. ... but he has no competition.

Last week TNA aired live on spike and did a 0.9 rating. Cops whicj aired b4 did a 1.1 rating and a taped ufc show did a 1.5 rating.

TNA cant even beat cops.

We need something new , and hopefully this is it.

That's horrible for ratings. I just don't think that Dixie Carter should be in a business like that. You gotta do what you know. She went in not knowing anything.

I watch WWE here and there like for Wrestlemania but most of it is just crap unfortunately. Do you listen to Jim Cornette's podcast? He recently talking about the backstage vignettes and I think that is a huge reason why wrestling sucks now. Too much storyline. Give me a good old fashioned storyline like a guy betraying his tag team partner. I don't need a whole production to have two guys fight each other.

I listened to a couple of cornette shows awile back but not recently , but i agree too much bs and not enough memphis style rasslin.

Theres a good show coming to b'ham in june with the re-uniting of the Studs stable. (robert fuller and jimmy golden) i dont know if you know who they are but fiuller used to be Col Parker and Tennesse Lee and Golden used to be Bunkhouse Buck. ... plus aj styles last show b4 he goes to japan. ... i'm looking forward to some old 80's style rasslin (blade jobs baby)

I wish these other shows were televised. Do you know if that's gonna be on tv or internet anywhere?

I have been out of the wrestling loop for a few years but I could have sworn that Jeff Jarrett was one of the founders of TNA, no? If so, there must have been something major fallout that happened for him to leave TNA. Any ideas what they were?

And yes, wrestling has not been the same since the days of WCW and ECW. Nothing will be as good as that time in the mid/late 90s.

Yes the Jarretts founded tna in 2002 , but sold it to panda entertainment (dixie carter) in 09 , jarrtett stayed on behind the scenes for a while but carter later hired hulk hogan and eric bischoff and gave them full creative control and they showed jarrett the door. ...There was also the problem of kurt angles wife divorcing kurt and then married jeff , so lots of drama backstage with angle threatining jarrett.

Jarrett later ran a company called Ring Ka King in south korea.
