anyone here know about websites?

I want to create a website but have no ideahow to do.

What I sent is nothing fancy but I sent member registration, a forum, the ability to post/upload videos andpictures, and the ability to put up articles and informational stuff.

A good example were if I were making a website on bird watching. I would want members to put pics and videos of the birds as well as a forum and even a glossary with bird descriptions.

Is this going to cost a lot? Big server space? Expensive software?

Wouldn't be expensive software or server space... well down the road maybe

First buy the domain name ( if you buy it from Godaddy, don't use their Hosting )
for a Forum, you will need to buy VBulletin ( about $250 )
Hosting should run about $300 to start

The expensive part will be paying someone to Build it ( the Web site ) then you will need someone to set up your Forum. ( Front and Backend )

Get a wordpress site for your main page, adding pics, vids and text is almost exactly the same as posting on a forum. You can do multiple pages(tabs) and easily hook up vbulleting to it. The whole thing should cost you under a nickel to build unless you want fancy original graphic work done then that would obviously drive up the cost a bit if you dont have the skills necessary to do it yourself.

There are many companies that offer templates that are really cheap that you can build a pretty professional looking site in a few hours (and pretty cheaply).

Good luck having success with a forum. We thought about having one when we started a college football website a few years ago. But thought better of it after we got advice from a few well known established websites whose forums were either floundering or turned out to be failures. They aren't easy to get started, and even harder to keep the interest going.

This website would not be sports gambling related at all (although there could be thread topics as such)

Interesting thing is I search the Web nonstop for this stuff and any information while finding very little.

Unfortunately the amount of ppl interested in this aren't very widespread right now outside of hawaii.....Although with zero competition I don't mind putting a nickel into it....If anything just for my own amusement

you could always just make it a facebook page. that is a lot easier to build, promote and can be monetized.

Do you know any programming languages? Or you want the full package deal where you don't have to worry about coding or setting up a database structure?

found out later...

he had a BUILT IN BACK DOOR..for himself

hell...I can't even keep my phones outta the pool...

as far as a Back Door. Try dealing with a person you know and can trust. or a Company that has been around.

I do not know coding and programming and I do not want it to be a Facebook page...Although the interface is similar to what I want....half the site would be like Facebook and the other half would be informative information from the website owners and writers.

No need to know coding... NONE

Most sites work them self. You choose a Template, find Hosting and add what you need.
You probably will need help setting it up at first, but then the rest you can do on your own.
