I will be starting a new thread each day this year with updated record. Last year keeping everything in the same thread just became too messy, especially with one or two posters trolling daily (which will not be responded to this year) It's also annoying to have to scroll the the very end to find that days picks. It's cleaner this way. This is my first posted play of the season. I am currently ahead about $1500 on my personal spreadsheet betting $200 per game, but that is a moot point as we start at 0-0 on the forum. Best of luck to everybody.
Rangers -130 Risk 260 to Win 200
I don't like laying juice above -110, but can't pass up Darvish at home at only -130. That is almost an insta-bet in itself considering you will be hard pressed to get him at home for the rest of the year at lower than -175. He was far from his A game when he pitched in Oakland on his last start, but still only allowed 3 runs over 6 innings. Look for him to be much sharper at home. I understand his history against the athletics isn't the best, but he is not the same pitcher now that he was when he first entered the league, as evidenced by his ability to win last week while even struggling with his command. Gray is no slouch, but the Rangers simply won't lose this one at home with a top five pitcher in the league on the mound.
