The NBA Owners will have to vote to force Sterling to sell the team.

My prediction? They will not vote to do so.

That will be too much of a slippery slope for the owners.

I just saw Mark Cuban saying as much.

The vote will be 29-0. Not a single owner wants to be associated with this guy.

Slippery slope for owners and players.

How long until one is taped saying shit about gays, jews, whites, hispanics?

I think Adrian Wojarowski (sp) from Yahoo said Silver has the votes he needs. He is usually plugged into this stuff...

Truth is this is a godsend for the NBA in many ways. Getting the worst owner in the 2nd biggest market out is something they wished they could do for years.

Does anybody know exactly how many votes are needed?

I had read that it is 3/4 majority.

At this point, it's political. Owner simply cannot vote for Sterling without lashback as unfair as that is

I wouldn't be too sure.

For one thing, is this vote even public? (results are but, who voted yay, and who voted nay?)

You know what's strange. I took a peek at a racist message board and they are conflicted about this because on one hand they agree with Sterling but they also hate jews. The white supremacy community is in turmoil right now.

Pretty sure 3/4th yeah

I'd like to be able to get an O/U of like 1.3B on what the team sells for. I'd go over easy, these teams have appreciated 30-40% in the last few years.

doesnt Sterling get a vote? lol
he is technically still an owner... chalk up 1 vote for the other side

Tough question. They said he couldn't participate any any NBA related activities. So not sure if that counts.

I'll take the under.

My guess is just north of 1.

Be hard to bet since we don't know when it is gonna get sold, etc but I think it'll be over 1.3.

Bucks sold for 550 and they are the cheapest valued team in the NBA according to forbes.

TV contract is up in 2015-2016 and the next deal is going to be massive. We're probably splitting hairs here since I think it'll be over 1.3 and you think 1.1 or 1.2 but the point is it is a prized asset.

Pro sports teams in top 3 media markets don't go up for sale everyday...

Yeah, the TV deal is the golden ticket. They're the only team in LA with a TV deal expiring in the near future. It'll be interesting to see what it goes for. Forbes has been awful with these values lately. I think their latest had LAC at around 700 million which is way too low. They also had the Dodgers at 800 mil before they went for 2 billion.
