Great show. I liked episode one better than I did two. But I have a feeling it's going to pick up pretty quick. I'm going to watch tonight's show right after the Thunder lose.

It's a parody guys. The accent is essential to convey the location, demographics & culture of the area i.e. Scandinavians in MN! Even some people in Mn. didn't "get it", WTF?:think2:

Would be easier to get a read on the show if it was more than 3 or 4 minute snippets between the steady stream of commercials.

The funny part about this show is in that first episode I found myself laughing at some pretty dark violent stuff. It's hard to check your humor at the door given the comedy that goes on with these murders. Plus I like the way Billy Bob likes to fuck with people's minds. And gets them in binds they really can't get out of. He's crazy as hell, but I can't help but kind of like him, as sick as that is..LOL. Because it's so off the wall, I think this series has some serious potential. I could go on about the different kind of cinematography that they use for this show, but i don't want to bore you. I just thik it's pretty damned different and good, "dontcha know."

I loved the movie too, saw the commercials and it just looked OK.

I'll probably binge watch it when the season is over if it keeps getting good reviews.

Thanks for posting this. I haven't watched, but was interested. Love Billy Bob as an actor. He's hilarious!

FYI, in my opinion....the best non-premium channel (HBO, etc) TV show is The American's. A must watch!

Coach, I agree about The Americans. Another great show that is also on FX. FX is pushing the envelope of salty language and nudity more than any other non-premium channel. They are also sparing no expense with these new shows. Besides hiring an A-List actor like Billy Bob, the production is also top notch.

Like I mentioned, the use of cinematography in that first episode was pretty flashy and top notch. The scene where his wife is killed is a thing of beauty. You see the hammer being swung from the viewers point of view, and then cut straight up to her face in perfect framing as if you, the viewer, hit her and then a full second of tension of "oh God what did I do." Pretty cutting edge stuff that you are more than likely going to see in a slick high dollar film before you see it a on a non-premium channel. So FX is breaking the mold.

Remember that the Coen Brothers are the producers of this show. And you can tell they have their influence all over it no matter who is directing the individual episodes. Like in the opener, it was classic Coen Bros. to make use of that broken washing machine. It was pretty brilliant, but I bet a lot of people didn't catch it. In an early scene you hear it rumbling down in the basement while on screen in the kitchen Nigard and his wife are eating breakfast.

So the washing machine is the trouble bubbling underneath the surface for not only those two, but also the sheriff and his wife who are seen eating in their kitchen with the director using similar shots as well as the female cop eating breakfast at her dad's restaurant. The washing machine is on the verge of exploding, and when it does all the characters lives are turned upside down. Like I said, that's vintage Coen's. I can't wait to see what they do going forward. Billy Bob is his usual great self. The look he gives people is downright scary. Maybe that's why Angelina left him...LOL

GS, I haven't recorded it at all. Is there a way to get the episodes (Netflix or something)?

I love Billy Bob. He was GREAT in Bad Santa! Plus he's banged Jolie!

I'm not sure how to access them. Murphy or one of the other net experts might know.

There are some familiar faces in the show, Saul the Lawyer from "Breaking Bad", Travis the Doomsday Killer and agent Lundy from "Dexter".

Solid cast.

I caught up on this, my cable has "TV Series" on demand so you can get a lot of these programs.

I like this show, next week's episodes looks to be the best yet based on the previews.

Between this show, The Americans and Bates Motel (and Justified) I don't see the point in watching movies. FX is also starting a new series The Strain and brining The Bridge back in July.

Billy Bob walking back and taking a dump while being threatened was hilarious. And then the guy leaves the room, and leaves the door open. BB is a very underrated actor. He creeps me out in one scene, and cracks me up in the next.... I'm still trying to figure out what the red shower scene at the end was about.
