A nice way to celebrate selling your stake in Beats Electronics to Apple

Apple is said to be acquiring Beats Electronics for $3.2 billion, and while the deal is yet to be formally confirmed, Dre has been busy looking for a new mansion fit for a mogul.
Sources tell us that Dre has made an offer near the $50 million asking price for Bundchen and Brady’s palatial pad in Brentwood. The 14,000-square-foot mega-mansion, featured in Architectural Digest, boasts six bedrooms, a library, a state-of-the-art gym, infinity pool, waterfall and even a moat. No word on the sound system, but Dre will be sure to have his own put in place.

And why would apple pay that for headphones. They can make their own and would be better. Lets see Apples brain power behind a guy that calls himself dr. dre.

You know Brady ripped him off. On houses like that where the buyer market is so extremely small, to pay close to list price?

Dre is one of the good guys.

If not for him we probably wouldn't have ever known Eminem.

And without Eminem there might not have been 50 Cent...

We were close on this one, they wanted to much of a security deposit for my taste so we conceded to Dre. The fact he threatened to punch me in the face if I didn't back off is beside the point.

Good to see Dre break the bank.

Suge Knight showed up at his house with a bunch of bloods and made him sign over the rights to all his music when he let him out of his Death Row contract. When this was covered on Behind the Music it was 1 of the better segments in the shows history.

Dre was like "I got my piece of mind and that was what is most important"

Beat Audio sucks. Several out there for less than half the price that sound twice as good.

I figured Dr Dre would keep it real and live in Compton.

Tell me what was the last house nationwide listed for $25M or more that sold at list?

Why does that matter? It's a niche market and houses like this aren't sold everyday. A large part of it is location. Homes that sell for $200k in some areas might sell for near $2mm in parts of California. People aren't get ripped off it's that market. There are homes that have sold for more than $50mm in the last 10 years.

A funny story is there was a guy with a custom built home that he hand built. He specially ordered everything from France and India and wherever else just for his own tastes. The guy put up over $5 million of his own money into the home. When it came time for the appraisal the home came in valued at $450k because thats what homes sold for in the area. Alright maybe not that funny because the guy was devastated. In order for him to recoup anywhere the money he put into the home he would have to sell it in a specialized publication for those types of homes.

What is funny is out of 365 nights, he prob. spent about 100 nights at that mansion. I know he has luxury suite in New York and Boston and assuming others plus all of the hotels. Quite a life; no doubting that. And I am a Peyton guy.

Article does not state that he paid list. It says "near" list which is a pretty relative word. Offer might have been $49. Might have been $40. Just depends on who is using it.

I think it is safe to say he overpaid. Tom prob. doesn't even live there anymore and big shit rappers think it is cool to pay top price since he actually thinks he will walk away with with 3.2 billion.

I don't know anything about headphones but obviously, he didn't invent them. What did he do put his name on them?
