NYY -1/2 -120(first 5). 2 units. Tanaka is THAT good, and certainly knows the Yankees are counting on him to win every 5th day due to their many pitching injuries. But more so, Tanaka has it all working now. He has such a variety of speeds and pitches, with great command- that the Cubs, who have never seen him before, will be in trouble. The Cubs have been hitting a bit better lately, but like Seattle, Houston, SD and other weak hitting teams, these little spurts are short lived and don't often carry over vs. great pitching.

Jason Hammel is more of a fly ball pitcher, which is never good in Wrigley. The Yankee hitters have seen him plenty and he is starting to regress to his mean now in May after his hot April start. More fly balls, less velocity than last year. The Orioles, who were desperate for starting pitching, let Hammel go because he is just…..well, so mediocre. Never bad, but nothing special.
