If Arizona Diamondbacks minor leaguer Jon Griffin is trying to impress the big club, Wednesday was a heck of a way to do it.

The Double-A Mobile BayBears slugger finally flashed some power after hitting just five homers in 39 games this season.

And, boy, did he ever flash some power, launching four home runs -- two solo, one two-run and one three-run -- in a 17-7 win over the Tennessee Smokies.

Not impressed yet? Well, consider this: He didn't hit his first dinger of the night until the fifth inning.

Meanwhile, down on the farm, #Dbacks prospect & @Mobile_BayBears first baseman Jon Griffin hit 4 (!) home runs tonight.

The Baybears scored 11 runs over the final five innings, giving Griffin plenty of opportunities to take his hacks at the plate.

Griffin, a 6-foot-6 first baseman who was taken in the 21st round of the 2011 draft, finished the night going 5-for 6, with 7 RBI.

For the season, he entered the game batting .261 with five homers. Wednesday's barrage put a dent in both of those numbers.

i remember a guy in the minors hitting for the home run cycle. Tyrone Horne. Got an autographed baseball somewhere. 4 homers in any game is impressive.
