Friday Night Horrors. Yanks about to seal the 5 IP play, give up 2 run HR with 2 outs in the 5th. Then another 2 run HR in the 9th- for a double loss. Arizona winning, then suspended because of rain. Maybe a 2-1 or 3-0 night turns ugly.
SF Giants -1 (-111). 4 Units. The Twins are surprisingly getting decent pitching lately, but their offense has gone south. Facing Bumgarner won't help. He has been only above average, but there is nothing wrong with him, and should return being the ace of the staff. Also SF has an excellent bullpen that can help late. But my main reason for liking this game so much is that the Giants have absolutely tattooed Ricky N. in recent game going back to last year. Nolasco's signing by the Twins for 49 million was an act of desperation. Nolasco is at best a 5th starter. Miami couldn't give him away as he pouted there. Then he made a decent salary drive in LA in 2013 before folding badly late in the year. Now he looks overweight and complacent with his big contract. He has given up 9 HRs in 55 IPs, a .311 BAA and has been hit especially hard on the road. The Giants know how to win and I just can't see them NOT taking advantage of this huge advantage.
Milwaukee -110. One unit ML. Randy Wolf is back after languishing in limbo for the past month and a half. Interesting because so many teams are desperate for pitching. Randy depends too much on his fastball and a very slow curve. His repertoire is deep and if his command is a little off, then kapok. Also, he faces his former teammates who definitely have the scouting report on him. The Brewers send young Jimmy Nelson to start. He has been dominant in the PCL, which is known for being a hitter's league. Just 38 hits in 58 innings, with a K per IP. Miami's young hitters have come back to earth since early on.
