They are the laughing stock of sports. All the off the field shit that they do and have going on is embarrassing

A virgin will need to be sacrificed on Wrigley field to remove the curse.

Pains me to say no, but no. They are so far away from putting a contender on the field I just can't imagine it happening anytime during his tenure.

Instead of investing in the "on the field product" they roll out new mascot, the debacle that is the rooftop issue, bringing in Manny Ramirez, making mistakes with their 100 year celebration murals, throwing away the Wrigley cake in a dumpster when it was supposed to go to a shelter, ricketts now saying they won't have money to spend on players until 2017-2020

Ricketts will have PLENTY of $$$$$$$$$. Farm is stronger than anytime in history, Good young guys on the roster now. A cheap ass cake, signing Manny for less than a McDonalds manager makes and a mural is what you pin your hopes on? May wanna read up a bit. You'd think a Redsox fan fan would be more compationate to the Cubs

yes, Ricketts are freaking loaded but have said time and time again that no money is going into THE TEAM until they can renovate and improve wrigley. yes, farm system has been upgraded big time over the Hendry era but who knows who will pan out and who won't. The Manny signing or player/coach designation has been getting killed in the media so I am not the only one that thinks it's a ridiculous idea.

I live a half mile from the stadium, go to 20-30 games a year, all my friends are cubs fans and have lived here for 16 years. I feel confident in the fact that I know this team well

but hey...you guys can get all defensive with me....all good.

cheers!

if you want to cite all the reasons that the Cubs will win anytime soon then I am all ears. I like the Cubs, I root for them. I have no dog in this fight other than saying they seem to always step on their own toes while trying to get going in the right direction

I'm still not convinced Theo is the godsend he's billed as but he's doing the right thing right now. Fuck winning. Blow the team up. Let the young guys play. Build the farm. He's doing that right things and you'll see a playoff team before too long. No clue if they can win it all but so far so good.

which renovations are you talking about? how is that going to help payroll this year or next? The renovations that Ricketts is talking about is the two video screens he wants to put up and the "now" 9 signs he wants to put up along the outfield. Along with expanding seating in the bleachers. trouble is all of this will be held up in court because of the contract with rooftop owners.

why are you talking about what Manny will be paid. I could care less about that. it's the message that you are bringing in a repeated PED user, a guy that has had clubhouse issues his whole career to mentor your young prospects. there wasn't anyone else on the planet more qualified to be a hitting coach? Also, what if manny hits like .400 in Iowa. Don't you think he is going to want to play more and be promoted? What if he doesnt? is he going to pout and not do his JOB of helping the prospects?

guess I am clueless

listen, Theo is a freaking brilliant guy but he was gift wrapped and handed a winning team in Boston. He had a huge payroll to play with and made the most out of it.

Theo has already upgraded the Cubs farm system 200% and that is his strength. He doesnt have that payroll flexibility right now due to everything Ive already stated. its been written about at nauseating lengths in the papers and online everyday.

He will make this team competitive for sure. He will sell off Shark, and Hammel and get really good prospects and at some point this team will mix the young guys ( rizzo and castro ) with Olt ( if he can hit over .200 ) Baez, Bryant, Almora, Soler, & Edwards
