To be honest I live in Vegas and I cant really think of a good answer to this question. I would probably say a day trip to Zion National Park.

How bout for the 4th of July? Best Fireworks show etc? Highly considering going for my boy's 3rd UFC fight. Double header for UFC that weekend also.

Zion is not a tough drive. I made it a few years ago. Just go up I 15 North.

Also, on the way up is the Virgin River Gorge The Virgin River rises on the Colorado Plateau and created the topography of both Zion National Park and the Virgin River Gorge. The Gorge connects the southwestern rim of the Colorado Plateau and the northeastern edge of the Mojave Desert. Interstate 15 runs through the canyon and crosses the Virgin River several times. This is a very interesting place to see. Be careful driving and keep eyes on the road. Very beautiful country.

Hope this helps.

On the way up when you drive out of Nevada.... you cross a short while through the corner of Arizona, before you enter Utah. In that little corner of Arizona is where the gorge is located. upon entering Utah you soon come to the town of St. George and then on up to Zion.

Just a heads up .... This is a construction Zone right now with the bridges being repaired. Very slow traffic at times and there's really no alternative route. Try to avoid the busy travel times !

I agree on Zion National Park! If you are into hiking there is a great trail called Angel's landing. We did it last year and it was great!
