Are you a Ragin Cajun fan?

cant remember if it was you or someone else I was asking awhile back about Hudspeth.

Anyway, if so, what do you think of your baseball team? My Rebs are coming to town this week for a Super. We have two outstanding pitchers so curious as to how they'll handle that ULL lineup.

Havent seen even much college baseball talk on here. One of my favorite times of the year.

You damm right.
Just got back form the Tigue.

Well unfortunately even though the SR is 5 mins from my house I'm going to be out of town the entire week.
Thats the bad news.
The good news is if we win I'm going to Omaha.

I honestly believe we are the best team in the nation.

Ranked #1 in all 5 polls.
So im not alone in my beliefs.

Im not going to be an idiot and say UM can't come here and win, but if it happened it would certainly be an upset.
I was hoping Washington could have put it away tonight. LOL no offense.

The UL lineup is going to be the toughest one you faced all season.

We also have 3 great starters.

Only weakness we have is the middle of the bullpen.

The key to beating UL is to keep the game close and try to get to the bullpen.

If you can do that you have a chance.

At 58-8 not many teams have been able to pull that off.

I think most are just realizing how good ULL is. Myself included. I thought y'all definitely deserved a national top 8 seed but still wasn't sure how good y'all were until seeing all the polls had y'all as number 1 and figured I was definitely missing something.

If the games are 9-6, ULL will win.
Ole Miss would prefer 4-2 type games.

We have two legit aces but our 3rd guy really struggled as the year went on. So I think y'all would feast on him and we would have to win a 10-9 type game in game 3 which I just don't see happening.

Youre right that ULL will definitely be the favorite but I'm confident Rebs win 1 of first 2 just because both pitchers are so good. Unless we win the first two games somehow, our chances to win the Super drop tremendously.

I've pretty much never looked at college baseball games and won't be betting the series as I'll already have enough to root on without money on it.

Series price?

ULL -160 ???

I don't know what the number is but If I was the bookmaker thats right about where I would put it.

I think UL is 40-0 when they score at least 6 runs in a game this season.
So 4-2 type games is what its going to take.

I changed my mind Chop.

I now now fully expect the Rebs to win. Maybe I read one too many articles and am now drinking the koolaid but that's part of the fun. Just really wish it was in Oxford.

I think they win as well. Odds are weird right now, and look to expect a high scoring game (favoring ULL it seems)

Think ULL wins games one, and I will play Ole Miss game 2. Gonna sit back and enjoy Game 1 at this time.

I love college baseball. I live in Arlington, VA and George Washington University's baseball stadium is about 1/4 mile from my house. It's 2 years old and very nice. Only seats about 400 fans, but it's really nice. I made 3 games this year.

My Gator baseball team shit the bed (2 and out) after being the #2 overall seed in the tourney. They won the SEC regular season though, so I'll take it. Lady Gator softball just brought home the national title last night.

Good luck if your team is still in...

The key to the series is game 1. I'm almost 100% positive whoever wins game 1 wins the series.
I really think miss will have to sweep to win.

Ul would be heavy favs in game 3.

Please tell me this is a misprint. You can get 400 fans on about 10 steel bleachers, or at every Little League Park around here...

Miss now the favorite in Game 1 at -130...

Of course the key is Game 1. That's in any Series. I would say a team that wins game 1 is about 75% more likely to win the Series.

I will also be playing CofC the first 2 games as they will be heavy underdogs in those games, win or lose the first one (+260). gotta ride the hot hand here at 26-2 last 28 games, and 2/3 of the kids are from within 30 minutes of my house, so I've seen a lot of them grow up over the past several years...

Some good match ups for the weekend. ACC folks have to be hyped for the UVA and Marryland Series.

Checked...

Seating capacity is 500. Followed by this...
Construction and renovations are now complete, making Barcroft Park one of the top collegiate facilities in the region. -Bout spit my coffee out. The Big League (15-17 yr olds) park a mile from my house is nicer...

Regarding game 1 winner winning it all, you would definitely think so but Ole Miss has been snakebit in Super Regionals recently even when they win their first game. We've been so close to Omaha but fallen short.

2005 - lost Super Regional to Texas even though we won game 1.
2006 - lost Super Regional to Miami even though we won game 1.
2007 - lost Super Regional to Arizona St. Lost game 1.
2009 - lost Super Regional to Virginia even though we won game 1.

We still have same coach. Hopefully he can overcome this history.

I seriously prefer college baseball over MLB baseball especially the way they bracket is formatted. It is actually exciting. I went to IU so disappointing that their best team ever and the National 4 seed lost on a walk off to Stanford in the deciding game. I have to assume Schwarber and Travis are not coming back for their senior seasons as Scwarber is a projected 1st round pick and Travis is a 3rd. They made the world series last year but the team this year was even better.

Wow. Coming into my thread about a college baseball regional to talk about Sterling which has now been relegated to the Rubber Room? Class act Dafinch.

I'll respond briefly but really don't want you ruining this thread. My only involvement in the Sterling debate was that IF Sterling chose to fight the sale, it would be an interesting legal battle and that he would have his day in court IF he wanted to. Again, that was IF he decided to fight. He chose not to fight for about two billion reasons. Pretty simple which rendered about 97% of the arguments in that thread moot.

No idea why you're following me around. My only interaction whatsoever with you was questioning why you acted so irrationally when scottcarter made a simple typo. You made post after post about how stupid it was because he made a typo. Of course, you made a typo in a subsequent post and I casually pointed out the irony. Then, like most posters with half a brain or a life, I got out of the thread because it turned into a pissing match/political debate (which is why it got removed from the board). I don't argue politics in real life much less on an anonymous sports message board.

This is is a very specific thread about a college baseball regional between Louisiana Lafayette vs Ole Miss. Please keep it that way and troll elsewhere.
