Sunday: 5-2, About +3.85 units.

The Yankees and Red Sox look like they are certain to miss the post season. NY has too many injuries, a weak pitching staff, and they can't even hit homers into the short porch in Yankee Stadium. Furthermore, though mediocre, other once lesser teams love to beat them. Their fans show up to watch the Yankees lose. As for the Red Sox, I'm happy for them that Ortiz could win Sunday with a 9th inning HR off of another bum in the Tiger bullpen. But when was the last time the Red Sox had an outfield like this, with very little power and not much hitting period? They have holes in the starting pitching and the catcher position- yikes! They might have gotten hot in September/ October last year and played over their heads- but they're paying the price now.

Baltimore ML -123. One unit. Norris is not pitching all that well, but Peavy is pitching worse. In his last 31 IPs, 44 hits, and 24 runs. Peavy is in a dilemma. When he nibbles, he walks too many. Then he tried to throw more strikes, and has gotten hit hard. Besides, the Orioles are hitting well. They faltered at times vs. the A's pitching, but they'll get to Peavy. The Red Sox had a little recovery beating up on Tampa and a faltering Braves team, but now they are losing again (very streaky).

KC ML -124. One unit. Vargas vs. Nuno. Battle of the junkballers. But Vargas has a nasty, well commanded change up, and can pinpoint his fastball well. Nuno, we'll see. He has been up and down, but overall doesn't seem to have any + pitches. The Yankees have no punch anymore, and the middle and top of the order looks so un-Yankee like. Texeira is not the same, nor is Jeter- especially power-wise. Soriano is washed up. Will McCann be the latest Yankee big money bust? Ellsbury and Solarte are the only guys that seem to produce, and Ellsbury will be injured soon- while Solarte is a rookie. KC has a large BP edge. Also, the Royals have battled well in the past week with both Toronto and STL. With the Tigers faltering, they're feeling confident.

Cinn. ML -115. One unit. The Dodgers travel from the high altitude to Cincy, and might be a little tired. Haren has been lit up of late and his ERA is climbing faster than a monkey on a banana tree. 8 HRs in his last 5 starts. Haren's problem is that he can't make any mistakes location-wise since his velocity is down in the mid 80s now. I also am wagering that the Reds will begin a little resurgence, and at home playing the placid Dodgers, is a good place to get it going. Cingrani has been inconsistent, but he has good stuff and a competitive streak that will help him along the way.

KC -1 (+117) One unit. Liking this one more.

Toronto TT over 5. One unit. Blue Jays hit righties well, and right now the Twins BP is a mess. It might be a good change going on the road for the Jays after 2 shutouts vs. STL. Nolasco has not fared well vs. good AL lineups.

Duh. Blue Jays still at home. Seems like a very long home stand.
