Joker Phillips out as UF WR coach

Resigned today....after coaching the last several days at the UF football camp.

Unconfirmed rumor it was due to recruiting violations at UK....but the reporter who made that statement rescinded.

Former star QB Chris Leak will take over as WR's coach.

UF has had 6 WR coaches since 2009. Unreal.

Another blow to a pitiful excuse for an offense....and another ding in Muschamp's UF tenure.

Just a short announcement with no explanation...........

Love it....Gators may be the best bet in the SEC the first few weeks.

Was listening to satellite radio yesterday and the rumor was that he bumped into a kid at a restaurant, exchange pleasantries, told the kid something like your on our radar but I can't talk to you right now, and left it at that. Somehow it got reported and because I guess UF is under a bit of scrutiny Joker fell on his sword for the program. If that's true, that $ucks!! He might not be a great HC but his reputation as a standup guy is pretty well known in the business. This was on College Sports Radio

News out of Gainesville is that is was pretty blatant and he met w/ the kid (planned meeting).
