Dodgers vs. D’Backs<o></o>

Josh Collmenter is an interesting type of pitcher. If youwere to receive a call as a scout about a prospect who threw straight as a linewith no ball movement, and whose fastball topped out at around 90 mph, youwould hang up the phone. But that’s exactly what Collmenter does. But themindboggling thing is, he’s had success. When a team first sees Collmenter, forwhatever reason, they have a real hard time adapting to his stuff. Once a teamhas faced him a few times though, they can adapt to his mediocre stuff and havesuccess. That’s precisely what I expect to happen tonight. The Dodgers sawCollmenter as recently as May 18[SUP]th[/SUP], a game in which they lost 5-3. TheDodgers have obviously underachieved thus far into the season, but the factremains that they have a very talented lineup 1-8. If LA is going to catch thered hot Giants in the division, they need to start playing better now! DanHaren is on the hill for LA against his former team that he was so dominantwith. Haren’s “glory days” are over, as his fastball velocity is down and hehas become a back of the rotation type pitcher. I’m not too worried in thisstart, as the D’backs are hitting .226 while losing 4 of their last 5 games,including a 4-3 loss to the Dodgers last night. Expect Haren to go 5 or 6innings while giving up a few earned runs. With the Dodgers seeing Collmenterso recently, I fully expect them to knock him around and win this game. Lay theprice and take the Dodgers -136.<o></o>
