The Rays won a squeaker last night and should be able to getanother win this evening. Tampa seems to have turned things around after whatwas just a horrible slump. At around 10 games out of the wild card spot, theRays will likely be watching October baseball from home this year. But thisteam has some talent, and is certainly better than the Tampa team we’ve seen inrecent weeks. Southpaw Erik Bedard heads to the mound facing Miguel Gonzalezwho is coming off the DL. The Orioles struggle against lefties and Bedard hasdone a decent job at home this season. Gonzalez has been much more effective athome than on the road. Nonetheless, this game figures to go to the bullpen early,as neither one of these pitchers are exactly “horses.” Slight edge to the Rays bullpenin this who has actually played well lately, despite the struggles of Grant Balfour.The Rays have lost their backers 26 units of profit already this season, and asa result, we should see some decent value for a while on a team that is muchbetter than their recent play indicates. This guy has been absolutely dominant for the ‘stos this year,a team that for the first time in what seems like forever, is getting betterand moving in the right direction. Tanner Roark takes the bump for the Nat’sand he has been lights out as well. Washington comes off getting swept in a 3game series against the Cardinals, a series in which all 3 games went under thetotal. The last 5 meetings between these two team have also gone under thetotal. The books have adjusted slightly for this trend, but are still hanging a7.5 which provides us with more than enough value. Keuchel sports a WHIP of0.99 so far while Roark is not far behind at 1.06. Roark is also in the NL’stop 25 in xFIP. Take the Nationals-Astros UNDER 7.5. <o></o>
